Flying to Seville

We had not originally planned for a spring trip this year. We had hoped that the work on the Bogk House (which see here) would have started by now, and we would be busy with some interaction with the contractors. But that didn't happen, so we decided to take off for a short trip to Spain.

We left Houston around 3:00 PM on Sunday, and got to Seville around 2:00 PM on Monday. We have to fly through Newark and Madrid, and there were all the attendant air travel problems. Late (ish) flights, crowded airports, things like that. But we arrived pretty much on time, and were at the hotel (Alfonso XIII) early. Too early to check in. Another bit of a kerfuffle, but we finally got to our room about 5:00.

It is a very nice hotel:

and the view was great of the square in front of the hotel:

The hotel is also very pretty:

We were pretty tired, but decided that we should go out to dinner anyway. The hotel concierge recommended a place called San Marco, we went, and it was delicious, in a very old building.

We found our own weaving way home, and went to sleep. We had to get up early the next day, since we had a tour of the Cathedral planned.
