Seville or Sevilla, take your pick.

Seville is a beautiful city. It is the fourth largest city in Spain, and is the capitol of Andalusia.

The three most important sites there are the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See, The Alcazar, and the Plaza Españia.

The Cathedral is very hard to capture in a photo:

or even a couple:

the tower is called the Giranda, and was built on a minaret of the previous mosque. It has ramps, not stairs, 35 of them.

Of course we went up:

That is a bull fighting ring you see above.

Inside the Cathedral there are many wonders, including the tomb of Christopher Columbus:

and an alter with hundred of figures:

And, of course, a wooden crocodile:

A gift of some sorts. It was real, but replaced by a wooden replica some time ago.

The Plaza Españia was built for the World's Fair of 1929 (which apparently was a bust) but also used in the World's Fair of 1992. (Which was a great success) I did not take any photos worth posting, so you'll have to imagine it. The Colombia Pavilion was covered with Pomegranates.

Finally, the Alcazar was so big and so amazing that we just did not have enough time to see it all.

But here are some snaps:

Walking through Sevilla, you can imagine what every large Latin American city was aspiring to be.

I would like to spend more time there.
